Salta`s geography encompasses the aridity of Puna in the west, as well as subtropical forests, mountains, valleys, and gorges in the northeast. It is precisely in one of those valley, " Valle de Lerma"(The Valley of Lerma) that the city of Salta is located. The weather is temperate during the whole year due to its altitude, 1200 m.s.n.m.
